A Water Trampoline Is Great Community Fun
Maybe you've never seen a water trampoline or
don't know what one is, but I bet you can guess from the name
what it is. Simply put, a water trampoline is a trampoline that
floats on water. Picture your local lake or swimming hole with
a trampoline in the middle. Basically anywhere there is a body
of water that is large enough would be a great spot for a water
trampoline.
A water trampoline is pretty basic in its design. The mat is
hooked to a large donut shaped object. This donut is filled
with air, allowing it to float on the water and still be strong
enough to support the mat and of course all the people using
it. Typically this donut is also anchored down to the bottom to
stop it from floating away.
PVC plastic is used to construct a water trampoline. This of
course is safer than metal and will help prevent injuries. Of
course if someone goes flying off they land in the water as
opposed to on the hard ground which is another benefit. In fact
you'll often see people bouncing off intentionally.
Water trampolines range in size from as small as 10 feet to
as large as 25 feet in diameter. You'll generally see the
larger ones in public park lakes where lots of children like to
swim. But they are not cheap. Some can cost up to $4000 dollars
or more. Still if your community or parks department can afford
it, a water trampoline in a local pond or lake is always a huge
hit with kids in the town, and can also draw visitors from
neighboring towns as well. These are people that will spend
money in your town, so it may be worth mentioning to one of
your local government officials. In some towns they have become
such a draw that the community decides on making additions like
slides, stairs and towers to dive off of. The more features,
the more people will come to play. But even the most simple
model is always a favorite place for a community's children to
get together.
Of course it's pretty rare that an individual owns a water
trampoline unless they have exclusive rights to a large body of
water. But if you're looking for great fun, why not search
around for a community with this type of trampoline in your
area. It's a great way to spend a day at a local lake and your
kids will absolutely love it.
