What Trampoline Accessories Are Necessary?

As trampolines become increasingly popular, there is also an increasing need for trampoline accessories. Manufacturers of course realize this and are making lots of items designed to accessorize your trampoline. But are they all necessary? In our opinion, some are, and some aren't.

Let's face it, most kids love trampolines. And parents like them too. They see trampolines perfect for keeping their children active for hours at a time. Children will gather with their friends outside instead of indoors with a video game controller in hand. Did you ever notice that kids rarely fuss, fight or argue when having fun on a trampoline? Typically all you'll hear them doing is laughing and having fun.

Of course anytime kids are jumping around there is the potential for injury. So our first "must have" trampoline accessory is a net enclosure. We all know kids love to fly high. They love to do air summersaults and things most parents would rather they not try. This net will keep them from flying right off. This is even more useful when two or more kids are on the trampoline. When one jumps he could easily send the other sailing off the trampoline and on to the ground. The net will keep this from happening, and there for reduce the potential for injury.

And while we're talking about safety, one of the many trampoline accessories geared for safety is the rail padding that covers the metal structure. Most trampolines now come with the padding included, but if yours doesn't, you should really consider purchasing some. And if it already comes with padding, it wouldn't hurt to have an extra layer.

One other trampoline accessory we recommend is a covering. This does not fall into the necessary category but it's good to have none the less. You'll find out real quick that the top of your trampoline becomes a good resting place for bird droppings, leaves and other debris. A covering will help keep it clean which actually also increases the safety factor as well. Some of the things that settle on the top will be slippery. And nobody wants to go flying off because the slipped on a few leaves.
