You've got a new trampoline and have really
been enjoying it. You love being outside and are even starting
to feel better as your health improves, your muscles grow
stronger and your cardio-vascular system also strengthens. The
question is "Now what?" You might get a little bored with
simply bouncing up and down every day. So it's time to add a
few cool trampoline tricks to your routine!
Not only will you have more fun, but all those health
benefits you are currently receiving will increase
tremendously. As you get better, the tricks become a bit
harder, which of course means more effort on your part. And
that's a good thing for your health and your confidence.
There are of course many trampoline tricks you can do, and
the first trick we'll look at really isn't a trick at all. It's
more of a way to get used to doing something other than
bouncing up and down on your feet. All we are going to do here
is land on our back. Get in the middle of your trampoline, drop
your arms to your side, and stand still. You are now ready. All
you need to do is keep your body stiff and fall back. That's
it. Don't twist or move your head, simply let your back hit the
mat and bounce back up. As you repeat this you'll notice you
can start to rebound higher and higher. That's what you are
striving for.
Now we can move on to something similar, but a little harder
and a little healthier for you. Everything is the same as what
you just did, but this time when you rebound, try to land on
your knees. You'll be setting yourself up for a continuous back
and forth motion since by landing on your knees you will bounce
backwards. See how many times you can do this without stopping.
Back to knees to back to knees to back etc.
As you move on to more advanced trampoline tricks it becomes
even more imperative that you have the proper safety equipment
in place. Please make sure you are using a
trampoline enclosure and that the rails are well padded
because you can now attempt to do things like flips. Make sure
you are confident and comfortable before attempting these
either backwards or forwards. As you get better you can even
add a spin to the flip to make it more difficult.
Now that you know how to do trampoline tricks, remember that
safety is priority one. Do not attempt any tricks with more
than one jumper on the trampoline. Warm up properly and make
sure you have the right safety equipment installed. Bouncing on
a trampoline is both healthy and fun, but it won't be if you
get hurt. Safety first!
